Experience The Langham

Ever since we moved to Chicago (2 years ago in September!) I’ve had a bucket list of things I wanted us to get to do while living in this beautiful city. Because of the state of the world since March and spending so much time in our little apartment we haven’t been able to cross off a lot of the things on that list. However, Chas was able to pull off the sweetest early birthday stay at the gorgeous Langham Hotel. I’ve adored their iconic pink taxi cab from afar and couldn’t wait to experience the room and incredible views of downtown!

Prior to confirming our stay, we made sure The Langham was following strict protocols with regard to COVID-19. Upon our arrival our temperatures were taken, we wore our masks and kept social distance from others.

The room! Oh my goodness. We had a beautiful king suite overlooking the Chicago river.

As a pre-birthday celebratory dinner we decided to walk right across the street to Smith & Wollensky, one of the finest steak houses in Chicago. It was the perfect place to watch the boats sail past along the river as the sun slowly set for the evening. They were so sweet and brought out a complimentary dessert for my birthday!

I’m a sucker for room service so we couldn’t pass up breakfast in bed complete with chocolate chip pancakes and complimentary Nespresso.

You can watch a quick little video I made from the weekend here on my IGTV!

I am grateful for some time away from our normal weekend routine to get a change of scenery and explore this place we’ve been calling home. I am also grateful today to officially be celebrating another year of life. The more birthdays I have, the more I am reminded that life is such a precious gift and The Lord has been so faithful to me. Looking forward to seeing what He has in store for my 26th year!
