Edward’s Apple Orchard

Apple picking has been on my Chicago bucket list ever since we moved here and experienced our first Windy City fall. One of my sweet readers mentioned she visited Edward’s Apple Orchard here in Illinois so after a little research we decided to take a spontaneous road trip.

Windows down. Breathing in the fresh crisp air as rows and rows of corn fields danced in the distance. I love a good road trip. Although is was just under two hours to the orchard, it felt like we had all the time in the world to take in new scenery, talk about the future and play our favorite songs on repeat.

As we drove up, the most beautiful home was sitting pretty on the property. Framed in a quintessential white picket fence with rocking chairs on a charming front porch. It looked like the perfect spot to sit and watch families make fall memories together.

It was so sweet that the orchard supplied these darling half bushel baskets to use ($3 to keep so we kept ours!) to collect all of our apples! I am an avid apple eater. I pack one in my lunch every time I go to work and honeycrisps are my favorite! Thankfully there was no shortage of plump honeycrisp apples to pick from. We even snacked on a few as we were frolicking down the row adding to our bushel. I may or may not have gotten a little too excited putting in apples with slight blemishes that were not up to par for inspector Charles.

This dress has so many features that make me want to wear it all the time. From the flattering square neckline and billowy sleeves to the babydoll waist that makes it oh so comfortable. The delicate floral print feels festive for fall and the length is perfect! And did I mention pockets? Dress it down with these casual sneakers or add some boots with a chunky cardigan.

The only photo we got together and it’s not even in focus. I kind of love it though. After we filled our basket with all the yummiest apples we headed back to the farm where the smell of fresh apple cider donuts lingered in the air. This was my first time to try one and it did not disappoint.

Watch this fun little highlight reel from our adventure to Edward’s Apple Orchard!
