Growing up my family always made it a priority to spend dinners together around our table. One thing we often did was go around sharing our “highs and lows” of that day. It was an opportunity to cultivate gratitude and reflect on areas of growth.

Recently I’ve been thinking about transferring that tradition over here to Miss Madeline Rose in a new series that I am pretty excited about called, bloom + grow.

If you’re a longtime reader you might recognize this as my slogan that I end every blog post with. A phrase I founded Miss Madeline Rose on three years ago.

bloom: (n.) a flourishing, healthy condition: the time or period of greatest beauty, artistry, etc

(v.) to flourish or thrive.

The blooms I want to share with you are my highs – the beautiful moments from the week – moments where I stopped to smell the roses – moments that inspired me whether in a favorite verse I read, song I heard, recipe I made, sale I found, home decor tip or beauty buy I’m loving.

grow: (v.) to become mature or experienced

The grow part will include things you won’t necessarily find on my highlight reel of Instagram or social media – the lows, areas where I feel I can grow in – some might be funny, others a little more serious – I don’t want to dwell on this section but it’s important to reflect on how you’re doing so you can always strive to be better. Chas is good at this, me not so much – but i’m growing (wink). I also find it refreshing to read about other’s not so perfect lives sometimes because in a world of perfect pictures, witty captions and constant comparisons it’s nice to know you’re not alone.

Although we might come across a few thorns in life it’s okay because there’s always beauty in the blooms.
